    OCTOBER 2005 :
  • Sweden: the Swedish telecom company TeliaSonera will integrate IPv6 to its network by 2006. This deployment should be the first important IPv6 deployment in Europe.

  • Austria : the Austrian IPv6 Task Force published its complete IPv6 transitioning roadmap for the country. This roadmap included technical aspects (IPv6 access, transisitioning stakes) but the applications, uses and business opportunities implied by IPv6 as well.

  • Europe : the 6th ETSI IPv6 Plugtests event will held at Sophie Antipolis (France) from October 17th to 21st October 2005. This event aims at the following objectives and benefits for participating companies: access a wide range of tests provided by various test companies; check the interoperability of products with international and active market players; run the tests for the IPv6 Ready Logo phase 2; and improve and debug IPv6 implementations (through the available interoperability and conformance tests, and the TTCN3 tests for the first time).

    JUIN 2005 :

  • Spain : after the first three editions success, the "Global IPv6 Summit" was held in Barcelona (at the Barcelona Exhibition Centre) June 6th-10th 2005 in partnership with the Internet Global Congress.
    This event is a source of information about IPv6 progress in IT , showing the deployment of IPv6 technologies today.

    APRIL 2005 :

  • Ireland : Minister Noel Dempsey announced that the Department for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources is intending to establish a National Test Centre for IPv6. As a result, the department is actively seeking proposals from institutions, private sectors and educational bodies capable of demonstrating their expertise in the deployment and development of IPv6 infrastructure and application services.

  • United Kingdom : the School of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton are working with Virgin Radio to make them the first commercial radio station in the UK to be accessible over IPv6.

    2004 :

  • Europe : a European Summit to launch an IPv6 connectivity service.
    The Global IPv6 Service Launch Event has the following objectives: highlight the importance and impact of IPv6; publicise the advanced capabilities of the large IPv6 test-beds, GÉANT and the national research and education networks with regard to their IPv6 deployment; promote international coordination and collaboration; emphasise the international dimension of research expanding from regional into global cooperation; further develop a global perspective on research networking; inform leading-edge and influential users about the achievements of the large European IPv6 tests-beds and GÉANT and how they can benefit from them; promote the new possibilities available with IPv6.

    2003 :

  • Europe : the European IPv6 Task Force, in its second phase, mandated by the European Commission, has released today a new report addressing the deployment Status of the new Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) including a renewed Call for Action at the European Union level.
